RAW Markup: <opinion> (root element)
- <opinion> is the root element of the RAW markup language. An earlier version of the RAW language used an element named "case" but it was later determined that "case" is often used to refer to multiple opinions in a single lawsuit, while "opinion" more accurately reflected an element used to markup a single document. Although the element is used to wrap multiple opinions where a court issues secondary opinions (such as dissents, etc.), the term still represents the closest approximation to the use for which the element is intended.
- Is the root element.
- Contains dochead and doctext elements.
- Contains element data only, no character data allowed.
